The road to Shigatse is scenic crossing two high passes Karo La and Kampa La. Shigatse, the second-largest city after Lhasa, houses the Tashilhunpo Monastery. Other attractions include ancient monasteries like Sera and Drepung, two of three great Gelug universities' gompas. Drive to the holy lake of Yamdrok Tso and Nam Tso crossing high passes.
