All major cities and towns in Bhutan have basic communication facilities; fax, e-mail, and phone. Most hotels in these cities have local and international calling services; you can also use public phone booths for a certain fee.
If you have a Bhutanese SIM card, you can use cell phones in most cities and some rural places; you can use the pre-paid mobile voucher to recharge your SIM card. Bhutan Post is the kingdom’s standard mail service and is available throughout the country. Additionally, DHL and Federal Express which have offices in Thimbu can help you with receiving and sending packages and documents.
Major cities and towns have internet facilities, and they are steadily increasing. However, broadband and wireless internet services can be found only in some places; most internet cafes still depend on the traditional dial-up connection.
