Annapurna Trek with Rafting & Jungle Safari Best Price:

Annapurna Trek with Rafting and Chitwan Jungle Safari is a perfect combination trip that includes trekking in the popular Annapurna region in the Nepalese Himalaya, Rafting in the Seti River followed by a Chitwan Jungle Safari in the plains.  It is an ideal combination trip for adventure seekers. This 13-day-long trip can be separated into three parts; a short trek to Annapurna, white water rafting in the Seti River, and Chitwan Jungle Safari.

We start the trip with a sightseeing tour of some of the UNESCO World Heritage sites in Kathmandu. The sightseeing tour is your basic introduction to Nepalese culture and History. We drive to the picturesque Lake city of Pokhara the next day and begin our short Annapurna trek the following day. We trek the beautiful Rhododen trail with white, pink, and red flowers all around us on our way to Ghorepani. Views of Mt.Machhapuchhre, Annapurna, and Dhaulagiri range keep us company during this beautiful trek. The highlight of the short trek in the Annapurna region is the sunrise view from Poon Hill, one of the best vantage points in Annapurna.

We complete the 1-hour-long uphill climb to Poon Hill before sunrise. Enjoy the sun coming up over some of the world’s highest mountains- Annapurna I (8,091m) Dhaulagiri I (8,167m) and Mt. Manaslu (8,156m) along with over a dozen other mountains including Mt. Machapuchhre ( 6,993m). The next part of the trip is white water rafting on the Seti River. It is an important river in western Nepal originating from glaciers and snowfields around the twin peaks of Nampa and API in the south.

The rafting is a rejuvenating experience with exciting small, moderate to big rapids along the way. It is also an opportunity to see birdlife in western Nepal. Egret, Chat, and Kingfishers are the three main birds here. Rhesus monkeys and Langurs are other attractions. We spend the night on the riverbank in camps after enjoying a bonfire and some interesting group activities. The final but equally exciting part of the Annapurna Trek with Rafting and Jungle Safari is the Chitwan Jungle Safari part.

We drive to Chitwan, an Inner Terai valley (because it is situated between the Mahabharata and Siwalik ranges also called the foothills of the Himalayas) for our Jungle adventure. Chitwan National Park is popular worldwide for hosting the endangered one-horned Rhinoceros, Royal Bengal tigers, Asian Elephants, and Gharial crocodiles. You can choose whether to take the elephant back safari, a Jungle walk, or a jeep safari. The adventure also includes a canoe ride and bird watching.

Other possible sightings during the safari include Swamp Deer, Sambar deer, Barking deer, Hog Deer, Spotted deer, Asian Elephants, sloth bears, and monkeys among others. The national park is also renowned for its 543 species of birds. Annapurna Trek with Rafting and Chitwan Jungle Safari with Adventure Club Trek is safe, reasonably priced, and unlimited fun. If you are looking for other trips in the Annapurna region, Annapurna Base Camp-14 Days or Annapurna short Trek 12 Days are worth exploring.

During the climbing session, hygienic, freshly prepared meals are provided.

Accommodations During the Trip:

Accommodation is provided in a three-star standard hotel in Kathmandu and Pokhara, and the best available tea houses during the trek. All accommodations are on a twin-sharing basis, with a single supplement available upon request at an additional cost. As the trek takes place in remote regions, tea house services are basic. We strive to arrange rooms with attached washrooms, though some tea houses may not have this facility.

Drinking Water During the Trek:

Adventure Club provides all meals during the trek but does not supply drinking water. The best option is to treat local water with chlorine or iodine tablets or use a Steripen. Tea houses provide free drinking water, which must be treated before consumption. If using tablets, ensure they fully dissolve, which takes about 30 minutes. Bottled mineral water is available for purchase along the trail, with prices ranging from USD 1 per liter at lower elevations to up to USD 4 at higher elevations.

To witness one of the most breathtaking sunrises over the Himalayas, we begin our early morning ascent along a steep trail to Poon Hill (3,210m / 10,529ft)—one of the most popular trekking viewpoints in the Annapurna region. From this vantage point, we are rewarded with panoramic views of Mustang, Pokhara, and more than 20 of the highest Himalayan peaks, including close-up vistas of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. As the first rays of sunlight illuminate the snow-capped summits, the mountains glow in hues of gold and pink, creating a truly mesmerizing sight.

After soaking in the spectacular scenery, capturing photographs, and enjoying a warm cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, we make our way back to Ghorepani for breakfast.

Following breakfast, we continue our journey eastward, ascending a nearby ridge before descending through dense rhododendron forests, which are particularly vibrant in the spring. Along the trail, we pass by stunning waterfalls and scenic landscapes, with occasional glimpses of the majestic Himalayan peaks through the forest canopy. After a rewarding day of trekking, we arrive at Tadapani, where we will spend the night, surrounded by the serene beauty of the mountains. Overnight in Tadapani.

Leaving Tadapani, we begin a steep descent through a dense and mystical forest, where towering rhododendron trees create a tunnel of greenery. During the blooming season, these ancient trees transform into a vibrant garden of dazzling red flowers, painting the landscape in breathtaking hues. The forest, thick and serene, exudes a tranquil charm, with occasional openings revealing glimpses of the Himalayan peaks.

By afternoon, depending on the season, we may be treated to the delicate beauty of cherry blossoms adorning the slopes across the ravine—a stunning contrast to the deep greens of the forest. As we continue our trek, the landscape gradually opens up, leading us to Ghandruk, a picturesque village nestled on the hillside. This traditional Gurung settlement is known for its beautifully crafted stone houses and its warm, welcoming community.

From Ghandruk, we are rewarded with towering views of Machapuchare (Fishtail), Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli, offering a spectacular backdrop to the village’s charming ambiance. To immerse ourselves in the region’s rich cultural heritage, we visit the Gurung Museum, where we gain insights into the traditions, history, and lifestyle of the Gurung people. By the time we arrive at Birethanti, some of us might feel like we just participated in a downhill marathon. But our ordeal is not over yet. From Birethanti, a half-an-hour walk takes us into Naya Pul. The journey on foot comes to an end at Nayapul. Then, we drive from Nayapul to Pokhara for an overnight stay. Overnight in Pokhara.

Early in the morning, we set out for Sarangkot, a scenic hilltop that offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges to the north and the tranquil Pokhara Valley to the south. As the first rays of sunlight touch the mighty Himalayas, the peaks are bathed in golden hues, creating a mesmerizing spectacle. After witnessing this unforgettable sunrise, we return to Pokhara to explore its renowned landmarks.

Our city tour begins with a visit to Davis Falls, a fascinating waterfall that plunges into a deep, narrow underground tunnel, vanishing mysteriously into the earth. Just nearby, we explore the Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, home to a revered shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, where intricate rock formations create a mystical ambiance.

Next, we head to Phewa Lake, the largest and most scenic lake in Pokhara, for a peaceful boating experience. In the middle of the lake sits the Tal Barahi Temple, a significant Hindu shrine dedicated to Goddess Barahi, which we visit while enjoying the tranquil waters and stunning reflections of the surrounding mountains.

We then visit the International Mountain Museum (IMM), which preserves and documents the history of mountaineering in the Himalayas and beyond. Here, we gain fascinating insights into the legendary climbers, diverse mountain cultures, and the challenges of high-altitude expeditions.

To further enrich our cultural experience, we tour a Tibetan refugee camp, where we witness how Tibetan refugees sustain their traditions by crafting and trading handwoven woolen carpets and other artisanal handicrafts. This visit offers a unique opportunity to learn about their way of life and resilience.

After a fulfilling day of exploration, we return to our hotel for an overnight stay in Pokhara, reflecting on the day's incredible sights and experiences.

Useful Info

Note:

Your safety is of the utmost concern while traveling with Adventure Club Trek. We will make every effort possible to follow the original itinerary. However, we reserve the right to change that itinerary if a segment of it becomes a safety issue. Certain mountain regions are remote, natural disasters can happen, weather conditions can decline, and there can be illness or injury. To avoid dangerous situations, we may occasionally have to make changes to the itinerary to ensure everyone’s safety. That being said, Adventure Club Trek will strive to provide you with the best possible trekking experience and keep your safety our number one priority. We thank you for your understanding.

Acclimatization And High Altitude Sickness:

The acclimatization planned during the trip helps trekkers adapt to the environment with less oxygen. Our body needs time to adjust to the higher altitudes. Rushing to the higher elevation without acclimatization may result in acute mountain sickness (AMS), which could be fatal. The trekkers may suffer from AMS above 2,400m/7,875ft as the amount of oxygen becomes less and less with the increase in elevation.

We can categorize AMS into three categories with its symptoms. The trekker suffering from regular AMS feels giddy, gets headaches and nausea, and is out of breath, and is suggested not to worry as it disappears after the body gets used to less oxygen. Likewise, trekkers suffering from mild AMS show symptoms of dizziness, muscular pain, insomnia, headache, vomiting, loss of appetite, rapid heartbeat, and shortness of breath. Mild AMS can be treated with anti-headache medicines. A person suffering from severe AMS shows heightened symptoms, including shortness of breath, even while taking rest. The trekker with severe symptoms can barely walk, and fluids may start building up in the lungs. The trekker with severe AMS must be taken to a lower altitude immediately.

Advanced cases of AMS:

If AMS is not treated in time, it can be life-threatening and lead to edema, a condition in which fluid accumulates in the tissues of the body. Following are the two serious altitude sicknesses caused at high altitudes.

High Altitude Cerebral Edema (HACE):

In HACE, the brain gets swollen, which can lead to coma and even death. Its symptoms are paralysis on one side of the body, bladder dysfunction, fatigue, bowel dysfunction, loss of coordination, and confusion. Descend to a lower altitude as soon as possible to prevent the worsening of the condition.

High Altitude Pulmonary Edema (HAPE):

Fluid accumulates in the lungs, which also increases the capillary pressure. Its symptoms include severe shortness of breath at rest, dry cough that later produces pink frothy sputum, and fatigue. Important Note: Severe cases of AMS are rare. All our guides at the Adventure Club Trek are aware of the symptoms of AMS and can handle it with care. We prioritize acclimatization, talk about the use of Diamox beforehand, and counsel all our trekkers on the risk and preventive factors before and during the trip. Your safety is our main concern.

First-Aid Kit:

Our guides and porters are equipped with a basic first-aid kit during regular treks. For expeditions that take on isolated and off-the-beaten trekking paths, a comprehensive first-aid kit is compulsory; the same goes for climbing expeditions as well.

  •  A bandage in case of sprains.
  • Plasters/ Band-aids and antiseptic ointments for simple cuts

In that case, appropriate adjustments can be made to reflect the specific requirements, season, and length of the trip. Visa And Entry Procedure:

Everyone needs a visa to enter Nepal except Indian nationals. Citizens of the SAARC nations like Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Bhutan do not require a visa for 30 days. Fortunately, getting a Nepal visa is an easy process. Tourist visas are issued on arrival at the international airport and official overland entry points. However, travelers from Afghanistan, Iraq, Cameroon, Ghana, Somalia, Swaziland, Senegal, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Ethiopia, and Liberia have yet to be issued a visa on arrival. After you arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will find electronic kiosks that will assist your visa processing. After taking the completed form and paying the visa fee, you need to stay in the long immigration queue for your visa on arrival.

Visitors can now apply for an online visa within 15 days of their arrival date in Nepal. For this, you will need your Nepal hotel address and a digital passport-sized photo that needs to be uploaded to the online application. After submitting the form online, you need to print out the confirmation page, which has to be furnished at the immigration section in Kathmandu airport, along with your passport and the required visa fee.

Tourists can also apply for a Nepali visa at the local Nepali Embassy or Consulate in their respective countries. Or, they can even mail their visa application to the visa office near their location, but well ahead to allow sufficient processing time. Nepal visa information for all categories of travelers and their correspondence cost can be convenient for more information and contact details of the Nepali Embassies and Consulate around the world.

Whichever way you enter Nepal, you will be given a 15/30/90-day visa as per your requirement. The general Nepal tourist visa fee on arrival for multiple entries is:

15 days – US$30, 30 days – US$50, and 90days – US$125

Tourist visas can be extended for a maximum of 150 days in a year, and these extensions are granted only at the Department of Immigration offices in Pokhara and Kathmandu. For more information on Nepal visas, visit our visa information page.

We fully support the IPPG (International Porter Protection Group), which strives to maintain and improve our porter's working conditions.

Travel Insurance:

To be adequately protected in terms of insurance, you will need specialist travel insurance for participation in hazardous activities. A travel insurance policy that covers helicopter evacuation, trip cancellation, injury, death, lost baggage, theft, liability, medical treatment, and expenses is strongly recommended. Ensure the insurance covers all the activities you will be undertaking during your stay in Nepal, such as trekking and climbing. Suppose you are injured and unable to travel. In that case, you can only ask for a rescue helicopter from a remote area if you have definite proof that you can pay for it. Adventure Club Trek has an agreement in Kathmandu that guarantees payment for helicopter evacuations. They pay a cash deposit to the helicopter operator and collect the money from you once you have been rescued. Be sure your policy specifically covers mountaineering or alpinism, or you may need help to settle a claim.

Communication:

On the Annapurna Base Camp Trek in Nepal, the internet service will be available at lodges with some extra service charge. You can contact your family and friends from the guesthouses. However, as we reach higher altitudes, communication will be through the phone for safety purposes. We communicate with all our valuable clients through the team leader at least once a day to ensure you are fine and enjoying the trip. The Adventure Club Trek office in Kathmandu will constantly contact you for the help you may need during the trek. Depending on the network you use, there could be a poor signal to the network before the high altitude. Upon your request, we can provide you with a separate local sim card to better the network. Many places have WIFI service available at an extra cost.

Group Size And Team Composition:

We always form a small group of like-minded people to give them a wonderful and perceptive travel experience. It provides opportunities to interact and share in a fun-filled environment when out in the wilderness. Generally, our travel group comprises a maximum of 14 members. We need at least two participants to run our fixed departure dates. For private trips, the number of group members does not apply. We always strive to form a team, ensuring that the members are comfortable with one another.

Tipping:

Tipping is optional in Nepal, as most services include a service charge. However, if you want to express your gratitude, you are free to tip drivers and hotel staff. People usually welcome such generosity. When listing your porters or trekking leaders, use your discretion as per the quality of the services. Tip money does not form a part of our employees' wages. However, you can use tipping to show appreciation for excellent service at the end of the trip.
