Why traveling to Everest Base Camp for Indian passport holders can have financial benefits?

Indian passport holders have financial benefits when they go to Everest Base Camp. The price of the food and hotels are the same for all the tourists trekking to the Everest base camp. However, some factors mentioned below make the trip less costly to Indian passport holders.

  • As India and Nepal share an open border, there are eight places where people can enter or exit Nepal and India. These places are official points for immigration. One can travel by train or via Airplane to arrive at Kathmandu. If you travel by train, you will visit places like Gorakhpur Junction, New Jalpaiguri, Jogbani, and Raxaul Junction. After that, you can take buses, jeeps, or cars to the nearest border. There are different types of public transportation available, like deluxe and microbuses. They often start their journeys close to the border and go towards Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. If you travel by Airplane, you land straight in Kathmandu. Traveling by plane can be costly but saves much time. Traveling by train can be cheap but extends your travel days. Therefore, you must choose your means of transportation according to your needs. Despite the transportation you choose, both are very cheap compared to the other trekkers who come from far land to trek to the base camp.

  • Also, the permit costs 50% less (Rs 1500) to the Indian trekkers compared to other foreign trekkers.

Trek Through Regular Everest Base Camp Trails

If you go straight to the base camp and come back, you would walk a trail 130 kilometers long. You'll walk through the Sagarmatha National Park to reach the base camp. The journey begins in a pretty green forest and takes you to a rocky and dry area.

We spent a day in Namche before moving on to Everest Base Camp. After a resting day, we will walk from Namche Bazaar, Tangbouche, to Dingboche. We hiked the next day from Dingboche up to Lobuche. We then walk across the frozen Gorakshep region to reach the Everest Base Camp.

Our longest hike is Pheriche-Namche. Our trek will end when we return from Namche to Lukla. We'll celebrate our achievement after an exciting journey to Kathmandu from Lukla.

Why does the cost of Everest Base Camp trekking for Indian passport holders is lower?

Indians are charged much less than other people to visit Everest Base Camp. Indians don't need a Visa to enter Nepal. You can opt for cheaper ground transportation or even bring your car.

Indians have an advantage on the Everest Base Camp Trek as their travel costs and permits are reduced by one-third. Food and lodging costs are the same, but it's still cheaper.

A trip to Everest Base Camp costs approximately INR 74000 for an Indian. The price includes the flights from Kathmandu to Lukla, a trekking guide and accommodation in twin-sharing arrangements, and breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the trek.

Group Joining Everest Base Camp Trek

Trekking in a group can be a good option for those with limited time and who want to make a well-planned trek. You can meet new people or receive assistance in an emergency.

However, its disadvantages are the high costs and the limited adaptability. The departure dates, routes, and services are fixed. You cannot choose your service. As altitude affects everyone differently, keeping pace with the group is often necessary to avoid developing AMS.

When you trek in a group, the service cost is divided, making your trip comparatively cheaper. Guides and porters can be hired to entertain you. You will not need to carry heavy loads when you have extra hands.

Trekking with only a guide and no porter

When you go hiking with just a guide rather than a helper to carry your things, you'll need to carry your bags and stuff while walking in the mountains. The guide will help you find the right path and tell you about the places. You have to be strong to carry all your stuff on your own. It can be a fun trip where you can enjoy yourself more freely.

When you trek with us, we make sure you're safe. We arrange trips with guides. If you want to save money and you don't want to hire someone to carry your things, you can skip that and save money. This is good if you plan to stay in the mountains for about 12-14 nights!

Everest Base Camp Trek Difficulty

The Everest Base Camp Trek is a medium difficulty. It is a familiar trek because of the pre-established routes and constant flow. Everest Base Camp has a unique vibe that draws people despite the high altitude. Always plan your trip. Don't rush. Start cardio exercises to be healthy and ready. Always stay hydrated. Altitude sickness is the biggest problem many hikers face during their Everest Base Camp trek. In an emergency, helicopter evacuations may be required. Insurance from a reputable provider is recommended. When planning your trip, consider the weather and climate.

Accommodation On Everest Base Camp Trek

We offer accommodation in Teahouses and Guesthouse on Everest Base Camp Trek. This way, it can be used in a room holding two hikers of the same gender. The room has two separate beds for each hiker. The rooms are equipped with beautiful, warm blankets and pillows. They also have comfortable matrices and bathrooms attached (not always). These rooms also offer beautiful views. Hotel guests like Yeti Mountain Home can upgrade to deluxe accommodations. We will ensure that you can stay in the most beautiful teahouses with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.

Everest Base Camp Trek Best Time, Climate & Weather

From March to June, the weather is perfect for hiking. Summer temperatures can reach up to 25 degrees; at night, they can drop as low as -20. The high temperatures attract a lot of tourists. Monsoons start in mid-July and continue until mid-September. The heavy rains can make the roads slippery, so it is not recommended to go hiking during this time. The best time to trek in the Everest region is September and November. During this period, the area is covered in wildflowers and Rhododendrons. Winter officially begins in November and lasts until February. This time of year is characterized by extreme cold. January is the coldest month of the year, with temperatures between -60- and -36 degrees Fahrenheit.
