Manasu and Annapurna Trek with Tilicho Lake Trek Overview

Manaslu and Annapurna Trek with Tilicho Lake is one of the best combinations of trekking trips in Nepal. It combines the restricted area of Manaslu with the world-famous Annapurna region. We also explore the lower parts of the Mustang valley. The 25-day-long Manaslu and Annapurna Trek with Tilicho Lake starts with a sightseeing trip around Kathmandu and takes us to some of the highest trekking trails in the world.

We set our foot on the Larkya La Pass at 5,135m, the highest point of the Manaslu circuit trek and Thorong La pass at 5,416m, the highest point of the Annapurna circuit trek. We make a detour from the Annapurna circuit trail to the tranquil Tilicho Lake at 4,949m/16,138 ft. Apart from being one of the highest lakes for its size in the world, Tilicho Lake is also of great cultural and religious importance for Hindus.

We drive to Soti Khola and begin our trek from here towards the Manaslu region. Trekking around the eighth highest mountain in the World,  Manaslu (8,163m) means trekking in the reasonably unspoiled High Himalayan terrains in the world. The sacred Manaslu region is home to snow leopard, Blue Sheep, and Himalayan Thar. Besides, the region is rich in flora and fauna as well. The centuries-old gompas and chortens only add to the mystery of the region. Ngadi,

We trek around Mt. Manaslu till Day 13 of the trek- passing beautiful alpine pastures, waterfall, glaciers, high ridges with excellent views of Mt. Manaslu, Shringi Himal, Simrang, Hinuchuli, Cheo, Kang Guru, and Larkya Peak among others. After crossing the Larkya La, we descend down to Bimthang, then to Tilije and meet the Annapurna circuit trail at Chame. We trek the higher portions of the Annapurna region in the following days. These parts are dominated by the Annapurna mountains, so close it feels like you could touch them. We trek to Siri Kharka, a high pasture, and the Tilicho Base Camp before setting off to the Tilicho Lake. This region experiences strong winds and heavy mist, both making for an extremely scenic and quite thrilling trek.

We then make our way towards Thorong Phedi eventually climbing up to the Thorong La ( pass) at 5,416m. It is one of the highest mountain passes in the world and sits higher than the Everest Base camp (5,364 m). The dramatic stretch then leads down to Muktinath, a village with the Muktinath temple which is of immense religious importance to Hindus and Buddhists. We are now in the Kali Gandaki Valley and drive towards its hub Jomsom. Towards the end of our 25-day-long Manaslu and Annapurna Trek with Tilicho Lake, we fly from Jomsom to Pokhara. The trek officially ends with a drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu.
